The fully automatic minirhizotron system VSI AC-21 is ready for 24/7 use in the field, greenhouse and growth room! Rain protected, with a small diameter housing, and fully battery powered (24V), the versatile new root imager can capture time-lapse series of roots and rhizosphere in unparalleled image quality (UHD; ~2000 dpi depending on image size). Watch the new AC-21 demonstration video - showing the camera head moving to different depths and angles for continuous, accurate root imaging. The high-resolution minirhizotron allows new, innovative lines of research to be developed (e.g. root hair and mycelium growth, diurnal or fertigation event-triggered root growth patterns, etc.) and sets new standards in terms of ease of use. Once set up (wireless with tablet), the root imager is ready to image whole or sections of 50 cm and 100 cm long minirhizotron tubes (7 cm / 2.75 in outer diameter) installed vertically or at an angle. Visit our AC-21 website and contact us to discuss details and application potentials!
